Tyler Perry's studios in Atlanta damaged in 4-alarm fire

Part of Tyler Perry's studios in Atlanta suffered damage after a 4-alarm fire broke out at the complex on Tuesday night.

There were no reports of injuries and that cause of the blaze has not been revealed. Perry went to the facility to thank firefighters for their efforts.

"We are grateful that there were no injuries, and that 99 percent of the damage is limited to the backlot facade," his spokesperson said in a statement obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com. "Mr. Perry wishes to express his heartfelt thanks to the Atlanta fire department for their professionalism in their quick response and limiting the damage. "

The complex has a 200,000-square-foot studio, five sound stages as well as a 400-seat theater.

Perry is known for his comedy series "Meet The Browns" and his "Madea" franchise, which features Perry in drag as the title character. The actor and director's other works include the TV series "House of Payne" and the films "For Colored Girls" and "Why Did I Get Married Too?"
