Eyewitness NewsPLAINFIELD (WABC) -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting in New Jersey. The incident happened at Roosevelt Avenue, near East Front Street, in Plainfield around 5:30 a.m.
Authorities were called to the scene to a report of a person down in the roadway. They initially thought it was a pedestrian who had been struck by a hit-and-run driver. But as they looked closer, they realized it was a gunshot victim.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene.The investigation is ongoing, and no suspects are in custody.
