Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- One of the most anticipated babies has arrived! Beyonce and Jay-Z have welcomed their first child.
The 30-year-old Beyonce gave birth to her daughter by scheduled caesarean section at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City on Saturday night with rapper husband Jay-Z by her side, according to multiple reports.
The couple named her Blue Ivy Carter, according to E! Online. Beyonce and Jay-Z, 42, made some elaborate plans to keep their baby's arrival under wraps.
Proud papa Jay-Z reportedly paid 1.3 million dollars to rent out the entire 4th floor of New York's Lenox Hill Hospital.The windows and surveillance cameras - blacked out, and employees of the hospital reportedly had to turn in their cell phones before starting their shifts.
The news is already a hot topic on Twitter, where the top trend is Ivy Blue Carter. Apparently there was some initial confusion over the baby's name. E! Online reports Jay Z is telling pals her name is Blue Ivy.
