01/04/2012 Goalkeeper from New Jersey scores a goal!
A goalkeeper from New Jersey made the record books by SCORING for his team. Tim Howard, who is from North Brunswick, is goalkeeper for Everton of the English Premier League. Around the 63rd minute of the game against Bolton, Howard kicked the ball about one hundred yards and, with a little help from the wind, over the head of the defending goalkeeper.
"I was delighted that we were in the lead and would hopefully go on to get three points, but it’s not a nice feeling for a keeper. It’s really awful actually," Howard told Sky Sports, explaining why he did not celebrate scoring.
His goal is only the fourth time in Premier League history that a goalkeeper has scored. His team lost the game, 2-1, but the highlight has gone viral. (replay around :35)
Howard was also the starting goalkeeper for the 2010 United States World Cup team.

While you were sleeping, Mitt Romney won the Iowa caucus by 8 votes, the slimmest margin in history, over surging Rick Santorum.
Just a couple of weeks ago, Santorum was polling around 3 percent. He won 25% of the vote. Santorum is also trending high in searches and discussions online. His campaign has been short on support and cash, but Santorum did a lot of leg work to earn his late rise in Iowa.
(AP Photo/Charlie Riedel)
The question is whether the surge carries over to New Hampshire, South Carolina and then Florida, or will he fade away like previous surging GOP candidates.
Iowa's caucus is non-binding, which means the vote is nothing but a straw poll. However, Ron Paul, who finished third in the voting, focused on making sure that Paul supporters stuck around after the vote to make sure they were selected as county delegates - the first step towards being elected as a delegate to the Republican National Convention.
(AP Photo/Eric Gay)
Sources close to the Paul campaign told Business Insider that Paul nailed down the delegates in all of Iowa's smaller counties and made a strong showing in several larger ones. Paul could end up being the real winner in Iowa.
Although Romney claimed victory, he earned only a few more votes than he did in Iowa's 2008 caucus. He also remains stuck in the mid-20 percent range as has been the case in all the polling. Romney seems like a lock in New Hampshire next Tuesday, but in 2008, he lost the primary to the fourth place finisher in Iowa, John McCain…. And we know what happened after that.
If the social media world means anything, Romney enjoyed a surge in popularity over the last month to put him over 1.2 million fans on Facebook, nearly twice that of his nearest competitor Ron Paul. Yet, according to the folks at socialbakers.com, Paul supporters are more engaged and the potential viral reach of Paul is twice as high as Romney - 65 million to 35 million. Basically, that means Paul's "fans" have a lot more potential influence than Romney's followers. Of course, both of them and the rest of the Republican field pale in comparison to President Obama's almost 25-million fans and viral reach of nearly 175-million people.
While political pundits watched or fell asleep waiting for the end in Iowa, football fans watched Michigan pull out an overtime victory in the Sugar Bowl. Virginia Tech had tied the game in the final seconds on a field goal by third-string kicker Justin Myer. His heroics proved short-lived as Justin Myer missed a 37-yard field goal in overtime. Michigan kicker Brendan Gibbons then booted a field goal from the same distance to give Michigan the 23-20 victory.
Michigan's Brendan Gibbons (34) kicks the game-winning field goal against Virginia Tech (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert)
After the game, Gibbons said he focused on his dating prospects prior to the kick. "Brunette girls," he said. "Every time we were like struggling in kicking, coach tells me to think about girls on a beach or brunette girls. So that's what we did. Made the kick."
Somehow, I think he'll have plenty of options.
Meanwhile, in the NFL, the Chicago Bears are considering their prospects for a new General Manager and a new offensive coordinator. The Bears axed GM Jerry Angelo and offensive coordinator Mike Martz, but kept coach Lovie Smith after Chicago failed to make the playoffs after five straight losses to end the season The Bears cited a talent gap with the Packers and Lions in announcing the firings.
The Steelers have benched safety Ryan Clark for this weekend's playoff game in Denver because the high altitude could kill him. Clark suffers from what is called sickle cell trait, which restricts the flow of oxygen to his organs. The last time Clark played in Denver, he lost 30 pounds, his spleen and gall bladder, and, yes, he nearly died. Clark said he wanted to play this weekend, but Coach Mike Tomlin is taking no chances.
It seems to happen every year, and again this January some are trying to turn Twitter into a diary for 2012. You will notice one of the trending topics is "Page 4 of 366." And yes, there has been a page 1, 2 and 3 if you feel like searching. The wonder is whether the Twitter diary will continue all the way to the end or if this is a temporary fad like so many New Year's resolutions. Usually, by page 10, people become bored and the Twitter diary fades away.
Here's an example of what goes viral may not always be what it seems. The Utica Phoenix, a weekly newspaper, posted what appears to be an incriminating video featuring Utica Police Officers placing baggies, possibly filled with drugs, in a vehicle of a person they pulled over for running a stop sign. The video received so many views that the site crashed and caused an uproar on social media sites. You can see it here:
But, you are only seeing a portion of what happened. The police department then released the full video, which the department says shows the officers pulling those drugs from the occupants before going back to the car. You can view the full video here: http://www.uticaod.com/features/x1819707736/As-video-alleges-Utica-police-planted-evidence-chief-responds
Here's a video that you don't want going viral. A guy proposed to his girlfriend on a jumbo tron at a UCLA game… Well, it didn't go as planned.
Another video showing off quantum levitation is trending. Can it be long before we actually see this technology put to use in some real world way?
This is pretty cool (or geeky depending on your point of view). A guy created a robot that he controls using X-Box Kinect and Wii controllers. This video shows it in action as he controls the robot to brush a cat.
You may have heard of ice fishing, but you have probably never seen ice fishing quite like this video from Finland.
Time to play name that tune… or tv show.
That's the trend!
Have a great day,
Bob

If you are an early riser or up all night, you have a chance to see one of the briefest meteor showers of the year.
The Quandrantid shower is lesser known than its cousins, the Perseid and Germinid, but it still offers a dazzling display with more than 200 meteors per hour.
After the moon sets around 3:00 a.m., you can catch the meteor shower at its peak.
Miss it, and you'll have to wait until next January. This is a one night affair.
Too cold to go outside? Marshall Space Flight Center has set up a live all-sky camera feed of the skies over Huntsville, Alabama, which you can see below.
You can also discover more details on NASA's website by clicking here.

Happy New Year! If you are like many people, today is your first day back after the holiday. That's the top trending topic on Twitter as people share their #firstdayback thoughts. You'll see a lot of kids grumbling about going back to school and a few adults "miserable" about the return to work and the cold weather, but at least one Twitter user is looking on the bright side of life. Mark Lindores (@MarkLindores) tweets, "At least it's not Monday…"
College football is a hot topic of discuss as we are deep into bowl season now. The biggest talker is the wild Rose Bowl game won by Oregon 45-38 over Wisconsin - the highest scoring Rose Bowl ever.
Darron Thomas passed for three touchdowns, De'Anthony Thomas scored on runs of 91 and 64 yards, and the No. 6 Ducks earned their first Rose Bowl championship in 95 years.
The big bowl match-up tonight is Michigan vs. Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. The Hokies are making their 19th straight bowl appearance.
The Iowa caucus is also trending as the Republican campaign for president finally gets to the real thing. The polls have been all over the place for the last three months, so we will finally have a true answer to the question "who would you vote for?" Smart money says Mitt Romney is the most consistent so he would be the likely winner, but I'd keep an eye on Ron Paul. He's the only other candidate with a strong organization (boots on the ground) in Iowa. Our Dave Evans is there and we'll be bringing you coverage on Eyewitness News all day.
Some people started out the New Year by starting a new life. Figure skating champion Johnny Weir is making news after tying the knot with his boyfriend Victor Voronov on New Year's Eve. "I am so happy to have found my match," Weir said in a statement.
The Queen of Soul has found her prince. Aretha Franklin announced that she is engaged to longtime friend William "Willie" Wilkerson.
Meanwhile, apparently after having a few too many on New Year's Eve, Real Housewives star Brandi Glanville tweeted she was "getting married" to Mixed Martial Arts manager Darin Harvey in Las Vegas.
The 38-year-old reality star apparently had second thoughts after the quickie wedding and told Us Weekly, "[We're] married! But to make it legal, I have to go to the courthouse today and I don't think we're gonna. Super fun though!"
It could be the perfect Valentine's gift for the Apple lover in your life. A toy company is rolling out a 12-inch figurine of Apple founder Steve Jobs. From the pictures, the figurine looks almost too real.
In Icons said it is selling the action figure “to honor the American icon and great visionary...” The figurine will sell for $99, before shipping, when it goes on sale in the U.S. in February.
You just need a little bit of talent to become famous. Take this girl with a funny talent, who now has topped 7 million views on YouTube.
In a follow-up video, her name Sarah from Sydney, Australia. She turns 14 on January 10th, and she's used her new found fame to launch a Facebook page and a Tumblr. Book and movie deals in the works?
Another trending video was uploaded in early December, but it's gone viral now… and you might find it useful in the future as Aunt Chippie shows us how to wrap gifts "faaaabulously with style and class." (Note: Lots of adult language)
The How to Love project has hit the subway in Los Angeles.
One of the most popular videos from New Year's Eve is the London fireworks. What a show!
And finally, just into the trend, a performance of Come Together featuring Steven Tyler, Alice Cooper and Weird Al caught on camera on New Year's Eve in Maui.
That's the Trend!
Have a great day,

Another day, another celebrity engagement. This time, it's arguably the greatest basketball player who ever lived and a well-known fashion model. "Yvette Prieto" and "Michael Jordan engagement" are ranked 1-2 on Google Trends after the six-time NBA champion popped the question to his longtime girlfriend. The Cuban-born model has lived with Jordan since 2009.
This will be Jordan's second marriage. He married Juanita Vanoy in September 1989, and they divorced in 2006 after 17 years of marriage. They have two sons, Jeffrey Michael and Marcus James, and a daughter, Jasmine.
Actress Zooey Deschanel is tops among Yahoo searches, while actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt is climbing on Google after the "500 Days of Summer" co-stars teamed up to record YouTube's current No. 1 trending video this morning. Check out their rendition of "What are you Doing New Year's Eve."
"Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy," "Kid Cudi" and "Breedlove" continue to trend, as word spreads about the tragic story of Ben Breedlove. As we told you about yesterday, the 18-year-old from Texas died of a heart attack on Christmas day, and Cudi, Breedlove's favorite rapper, responded with a blog post about his heartbreak over the incident. Breedlove chronicled his struggle with the heart condition and near-death experiences in YouTube videos.
Another trick-shot basketball video is gaining steam. This time, it's from Oklahoma freshman James Fraschilla, who is supporting Hayden's Hope, a charity to raise awareness for pediatric organ donation.
Oklahoma City Thunder superstar Kevin Durant is getting attention as people search for his dramatic buzzer beater in a win over the Dallas Mavericks last night. A three-pointer by the Mavs' Vince Carter gave Dallas a two-point lead with just over a second to go. Durant's three-point heave found nothing but net as time expired.
Emma Watson is trending (though oddly Justin Bieber ISN'T) after the two were awarded the "Most Influential Haircuts" of 2011 by the Wall Street Journal.
The Harry Potter actress and Canadian pop superstars' respective decisions to chop off their floppy locks earned them top honors.
Finally, we have some time-lapse video of an elaborate Angry Birds-themed gingerbread house, from the initial sketch design to the completed product.

Posted by WABC on December 30, 2011 in Spiking , The Trend, Viral Video | Permalink | Comments (0) 12/29/2011 Rachel Uchitel, Ben Breedlove and a lion cub
Good morning!
Rachel Uchitel is pregnant. The woman most famous for derailing Tiger Wood's pro golf career is about to become a mom for the first time with husband Matt Hahn. The 36-year-old Uchitel announced on Twitter that she is "Expecting big things for 2012...Five down, four months to go." She also posted a picture of her and her hubby holding her baby bump.
Uchitel has usually been in the news over the years for less-than-desirable reasons. The nightclub manager's fiance, Andrew O'Grady, died on 9/11, and she was linked to an affair with married actor David Borneanz a few years ago. Then came the now-infamous tryst with Woods, and she also did a stint on Dr. Drew's Celebrity Rehab. Now, it seems her luck might be changing. She wed Hahn, a former Penn State football player, in October and is now expecting a baby girl on May 12.
It appears she has expensive tastes, though. The Daily Mail reports that she has asked her friends to choose from a list of 50 items that include a $1,000 stroller and $300 nipple pumps.
In a heartbreaking story, Kid Cudi and "hypertrophic cardiomyopathy" are getting a lot of attention after the rap star paid tribute to an 18-year-old fan who died of the heart condition. Ben Breedlove suffered a fatal heart attack on Christmas day after a lifelong struggle that he chronicled in two YouTube "My Story" videos. The teen, from Austin, Texas, detailed his health scares as well as offered advice to those facing hardships. Part 1 has been viewed more than 1.2 million times.
Breedlove posted a clip about a vision he had during one of his three near-death experiences, in which he saw himself in a white room with Kid Cudi, his favorite rapper, and "couldn't stop smiling." After seeing the videos and learning of Breedlove's death, Cudi wrote, "I broke down, I am to tears because I hate how life is so unfair. This has really touched my heart in a way I can't describe, this is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much…We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me."
Click here to read the full text of the letter.
Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy is a condition that causes thickening of the heart muscles, which can lead to death.
In slightly more uplifting news, the Amputee Football (Soccer) Championships is one of the top videos on YouTube. Some ridiculous soccer skills were on display at the African Cup of Nations for Amputee Football.
"Mars Needs Moms" is trending after it was named the biggest flop film of 2011 by the Hollywood Reporter. Flopping is determined by a film's worldwide gross compared to its budget. "Mars Needs Moms" cost $150 million to make, but it only grossed $39 million worldwide. "Sucker Punch" came it at No. 2, with Russell Brand's "Arthur" taking the third spot. "Green Lantern" and "Cowboys and Aliens" round out the top five.
Another YouTube video gaining steam Thursday is a treat from Delta, showing you how your bags get from Point A to Point B. The airline shared a behind-the-scenes look at the journey luggage takes from a flight from Atlanta to New York. It's kind of a commercial for Delta's new smart phone app, which allows users to track their bags as they travel.
Lady Gaga is also trending after the pop star was spotted home shopping. But Gaga was not looking in her native New York or Hollywood. She was house hunting in Lititz, Pennsylvania, hometown of her "Vampire Diaries" boyfriend Taylor Kinney. The $1.7 million mansion resides within a gated community in Lancaster County. Does this mean the megastar is looking to settle down? Time will tell.
Finally, we have a lion cub trying his best to let out a ferocious roar. The cute little guy isn't quite there yet.

Posted by WABC on December 29, 2011 in The Trend, Twitter, Viral Video | Permalink | Comments (0) 12/28/2011 John Legend, Danny Gokey and Kevin vs. the tomato
Two big stories are trending across Google, Yahoo and Twitter this Wednesday. The first is that John Legend will no longer be a bachelor. The singer's publicist said Tuesday that Legend proposed to his longtime girlfriend, model Chrissy Teigen, recently in the Maldives. No more details are being provided. Legend has won nine Grammys Awards and released four albums. Teigen was named "rookie of the year" in the Sports Illustrated's annual swimsuit issue last year. She also has a food blog.
The other top trend is the Mega Millions lottery, which offered a $206 million jackpot in Tuesday evening's drawing. It's looking to be a very happy new year for at least one person on Long Island, after the only winning ticket was purchased at a King Kullen supermarket on Middle Country Road in Middle Island. The ticket has a cash value of about $152 million, before taxes.
One of the top videos on YouTube this morning is "I don't like the Cubs!" which is up to nearly half a million views. In it, a mother plays a prank on her 6-year-old twins by switching their Christmas gifts. Mya, a diehard White Sox fan, at first tries to hide her disappointment at receiving a Cubs Pillow Pet. But she can only hold it in for so long before the water works start and the meltdown begins. Of course it all ends happy when mom reveals the White Sox Pillow Pet. It all reminds me that I really cannot wait to have kids...
Former "American Idol" season 8 contestant Danny Gokey is also making headlines. The singer, who famously lost his wife during heart surgery in 2008, is engaged again. The 31-year-old Gokey proposed to girlfriend Leyicet Peralta and says he wants wedding presents in the form of donations to his Sophia's Heart charity, which is named after his late wife.
Just in time for New Year's, we have "Why Alcohol Makes Your Head Spin." The video offers an explanation of how booze affects the inner ear.
In keeping with the holiday spirit, another video going viral is a 94-year-old grandmother busting a move to some dance music this Christmas. The poster reports that not only is she an awesome dancer, but she also bought herself an iPad recently and enjoys the Angry Birds.
Finally, we have two animal videos to make you smile. The first is a tiny turtle trying to eat a tomato. Unfortunately, Kevin the baby sulcata tortoise has really bad depth perception. Will he eat or won't he eat? You have to watch to find out.
We leave you today with both mean AND funny, as a surly kitten pushes his furry friend off a ladder. The poster reports that no cats were seriously injured and that both cats are in good health (though Kimba is slightly above average weight for his age.)

Posted by WABC on December 28, 2011 in The Trend, Viral Video | Permalink | Comments (0) 12/27/2011 Facebook rescue, cheating ex and dog in pantsCheck out this video of Sandy, who is just as happy as Daniel is at the new car toy he got for Christmas.
Facebook is being praised for helping save a woman and her son who were being held hostage for nearly five days. The Utah woman hid in a closet with a laptop to post her plea for help on the social networking website, saying she and her son would be "dead by morning" if they were not rescued. The post prompted someone to call police (and at least one person to "like" it), who went to the home to check on the woman's welfare. Troy Reed Critchfield, 33, was arrested and is facing aggravated kidnapping, forcible sodomy, aggravated assault, domestic violence, child abuse, animal cruelty and other charges.
"Packers ex-boyfriend sign" is getting lots of love on Yahoo after Annie Wagner exacted her revenge on her ex by bringing a sign to the Packers-Bears game on Christmas night. As you can see in the now-viral picture below, Wagner dumped her cheating man and went to watch football, letting the world know he did not have the privilege of freezing his butt of in near-freezing temperatures at Lambeau Field.
Video of the amazing Rollerman is taking off on YouTube. The wheel-covered gentleman zooms through the Alps. No word on his top speed, but he passes cars and motorcycles along the way.
Sears is trending after the retailer announced plans to close between 100 and 120 Sears and Kmart stores after poor sales during the holidays, the most crucial time of year for retailers. The closings are the latest and most visible in a long series of moves to try to fix a retailer that has struggled with falling sales and shabby stores.
Next, it's no Optimus Prime, but video of this Transformer-inspired gingerbread house is being billed as "the most epic gingerbread house of the holiday season." I'm not sure what competition there is, but at just 19 seconds, it doesn't take too much of your time to check it out.
Drew Brees set the NFL mark for yards passing in a season, breaking a record that Dan Marino had held for nearly three decades, and New Orleans clinched the NFC South title with a 45-16 victory over the Falcons on Monday night. Brees threw for 307 yards and four touchdowns, the last a 9-yard strike to Darren Sproles that set the record with 2:51 to go.
"Honestly, I was really trying not to think about the record or anything," Brees said. "I knew we were close. A couple guys mentioned stuff to me on the sideline. I didn't want to hear it. It's like a pitcher with a no-hitter, I guess."
It was Brees' final pass of the game and it gave him 5,087 yards passing - with one game still to play. Marino finished with 5,084 yards for the Miami Dolphins in 1984. An emotional Brees offered a pretty touching speech to his teammates afterwards. CLICK HERE to watch it on ESPN.
Finally, we've got a dog wearing pants. Running down the stairs. On two paws. Enjoy.
Google Trends is down for maintenance this morning, so that's the Trend!
Posted by WABC on December 27, 2011 in Social Media , The Trend, Viral Video | Permalink | Comments (0) 12/26/2011 Boxing Day, Riley on Marketing and Dogs who Love Guitar
It's December 26, and that means people around the world are celebrating Boxing Day! "Happy Boxing Day" is the top trend on Twitter, as people in Great Britain, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and some Commonwealth nations mark the day with shopping (similar to Black Friday in the U.S.). Boxing Day was traditionally the day after Christmas when rich people and homeowners in the UK would give a box containing a gift to their servants. Now it is mainly just a bank holiday.
Sports are the hot topic on Google after a big NFL weekend narrowed the playoff field and the NBA kicked off its lockout-shortened season."Bears vs. Packers" is the most searched item after quarterback Aaron Rodgers rode his first five-touchdown game to victory, locking up the number one seed for Green Bay and ensuring the playoff road will go through Lambeau Field.
"Golden State Warriors" comes in at No. 2 after the Los Angeles Clippers outscored them 21-3 over the final five minutes to ruin St. John's alum Mark Jackson's debut as an NBA coach.
Other sports-related items getting big time play in Google's top 20 this holiday Monday are Derrick Rose (Chicago Bulls guard hit a game-winning shot with five seconds left to sink the Lakers), Blake Griffin (Clippers forward), Monta Ellis (Warriors guard), Tyson Chandler (Knicks center), Chicago Bulls, Knicks (battled back to knock off the Celtics), Ron Artest, Lakers, Stephen Curry, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, David Lee and the Sacremento Kings.
In fact, there are only four items in Google's top 20 that DON'T involve sports. They include Port Charlotte Florida, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, ipad 2 cases and Stratfor. The last one is making headlines after a Christmas day hacking by the group "Anonymous," which claimed Sunday to have stolen thousands of credit card numbers and other personal information. One hacker said the goal was to pilfer funds from individuals' accounts to give away as Christmas donations, and some victims confirmed unauthorized transactions linked to their credit cards.
Anonymous boasted of stealing Stratfor's confidential client list, which includes entities ranging from Apple Inc. to the U.S. Air Force to the Miami Police Department, and mining it for more than 4,000 credit card numbers, passwords and home addresses. Austin, Texas-based Stratfor provides political, economic and military analysis to help clients reduce risk, according to a description on its YouTube page.
Speaking of YouTube, a special holiday tune from Zach Braff and Donald Faison is one of the weekend's most viewed videos. The former "Scrubs" co-stars team up for their own personal take on the classic "Baby It's Cold Outside."
In another video that's gone viral, a young girl who is struggling with gender roles and gift expectations goes on a rant in a toy store because she wants superheroes. She doesn't think they should be considered "boy" presents. The video is called "Riley on Marketing."
Dido is the top trend on Yahoo after the 40-year-old singer gave birth to her first child on Christmas day. She had Baby Stanley with writer husband Rohan Gavin.
Finally, in our awesome pet video of the day, we've got a dog who loves listening to his owner play the guitar. He is decidedly less happy once the music stops…
That's the Trend!

Footlocker and Michael Jordan are hot topics this morning because of the release of the new Air Jordan XI Concord. This is a really big deal for sneaker lovers.
In Houston, people lined up for days in anticipation of the Concord. At one mall, more than 200 people lined up at one store, some people camping out since Monday. At the other end of the mall, another 200 people camped outside a Footaction store. So why, you ask, would anyone line up for days to own a pair of sneakers? For the shoe fanatics, or "sneakerheads" in footwear speak, the Air Jordan XI, with its black patent-leather accents on white, is identical to the original released in 1996. Wearing the shoes, the Chicago Bulls star would win the most valuable player award for the 1995-96 season, for the All-Star Game and for the NBA Finals. Many of the people who are buying these sneakers will never actually wear them. Sneakerheads just like collecting, leaving the sneakers pristine in the original box.
Former Met Carlos Beltran will be shagging flies in St. Louis next season. Beltran and the World Series champion Cardinals agreed to a two-year contract pending results of a physical, a move that would fortify the team's lineup following the departure of Albert Pujols.

The Indianapolis Colts won their second game of the season, and second in a row, in dramatic fashion. Reggie Wayne, whose contract expires at the end of the season, caught a 1-yard touchdown pass from Dan Orlovsky with 19 seconds left, giving the Colts their only lead of the game (and the only one that mattered) in a 19-16 victory over AFC South champion Houston.
American Idol star Adam Lambert landed in a Finnish jail on Thursday after getting busted for fighting with his boyfriend outside a Helsinki gay bar. According to reports, the fight began with his Finnish boyfriend, local reality star Sauli Koskinen, inside the bar and then spilled out into the streets. Both men were taken into custody, and then later released. No one is saying what sparked the fight, but Lambert tweeted: "Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us?blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned.Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :)"
A top trending topic on Twitter this morning is #iwannameet… Among the top tweeted celebrities: Eminem, Noel Gallagher, Ian Somerhalder (the dead guy from Lost), Mila Kunas, Tyler Perry and the guy who invented donuts. Other interesting tweets - "@NuriffaFmz #iwannameet my future husband.lol"… "@m19mccann #iwannameet you again from the beginning..." …. And "@Janeninonu #iwannameet my baby....soooooon! :)"
Another movie trailer is making a buzz online. "Prometheus" is the long-awaited next installment to the "Alien" series. The movie hits theaters next summer. The film takes the audience into the late 21st century in what fans believe is a prequel to the original Alien series.
Here's a first - video of Comet Lovejoy as seen from about 240 miles above the Earth's horizon on Wednesday. International Space Station Commander Dan Burbank captured the video.
And here's something else you don't see every day - a chance encounter with a troop of wild mountain gorillas.
Today's holiday house comes from California where a guy transformed his Halloween light show into a Christmas light show to music of "I'm Sexy and I know It." He also asked that no one show up at his house because the light show is on hold -- the neighbors needed a break.
Finally, the most popular video on YouTube is the dancing antics of Cebu Pacific’s flight crews… They are dancing safety instructions to the song All I Want for Christmas on fights through the holidays. The dancing routine started last year when a passenger-shot video of the crew dancing safety instructions to a tune by Lady Gaga went viral on YouTube, accruing more than 10 million views.
That’s the trend! It’s my last Trend of the year as I head off into holidayland until 2012. Have a very Merry Christmas, a Happy Hanukkah, and an extra spectacular New Year!!!!
