The arena would replace the Islanders' current home at Nassau Coliseum. This will be a brand new facility, not a refurbished building.
The ballpark would be built at Mitchel Field and is dependent on a minor league team agreeing to move there.
The county and the team will seek a $400 million bond referendum to build the new facilities.Mangano is also expected to announce that he will focus on building a casino with the Shinnecock Indian Nation at Belmont Park. The original plan was to build the casino on Nassau Coliseum grounds.
The press conference Wednesday will be held at the Nassau Coliseum at 11 a.m.
The event is open to the public and the team is encouraging Islanders fans to attend.
Islanders fans should enter the Coliseum parking lot from Hempstead Turnpike, and enter the building through the Nassau Coliseum Box Office.
