Betty White unveils her Madame Tussauds wax figureBetty White talks about getting her own wax figure

Former "Golden Girls" actress Betty White became the oldest celebrity to be honored with a wax figure at Madame Tussauds on Monday, June 4.

"I'm 90 years old. You don't expect this kind of an honor at 90," White told OnTheRedCarpet.com at the unveiling ceremony in Los Angeles.

"It's a weird feeling to see her standing there. She won't even look at me - she hasn't glanced at me one time," White joked of her wax figure. "It was supposed to happen back with 'The Golden Girls' but Bea Arthur wouldn't do it."

White joined the ranks of other Hollywood stars who have received wax figures, including Audrey Hepburn, Angelina Jolie and Marilyn Monroe. The actress said it was an honor that she didn't take lightly. A representative from Madame Tussauds said that the figure cost $300,000 to make and required hundreds of photos of the actress.

"I want to thank Madame Tussauds Hollywood for taking their sweet time in making my wax figure," said White said in a statement. "Would it have killed them to do this 50 years ago before gravity took over? Seriously though, it will be an honor to stand among the greats like George Burns and Lucille Ball."

White, who is the only surviving cast member of "Golden Girls," has made a comeback recently, appearing in films like "The Proposal" and "You Again." She currently stars in "Hot in Cleveland," which will air its series finale on June 6 on TV Land.

The actress has also become one of the most popular senior television stars, especially following a "Saturday Night Live" hosting stint in 2010, which earned the "Golden Girls" star her fifth Emmy Award.

White, a longtime animal rights activist, is a co-chair of the Los Angeles Zoo. She has also worked with the American Humane Association for years.
