Same-sex marriage supporters plan a rally

Eyewitness NewsNEW YORK (WABC) -- The state legislature on the Same-Sex Marriage Bill is set to adjourn tomorrow and still there is no Senate vote scheduled.

Governor Andrew Cuomo is pushing in favor of the bill and has said that he will extend the legislative session to the end of the week if needed.

The Democrat has personally lobbied wavering Republican lawmakers and says the extension of marriage rights to gays and lesbians is "a matter of principle, not politics."

GOP lawmakers met with the governor on Friday in reference to setting certain limitations to the bill.

The Same-Sex Marriage Bill is just one vote shy of passing.

Supporter of the bill will hold a rally at 2pm at the LGBT Community Center on West 13th St.
