Youth baseball manager charged with harassing rival coach

  Eyewitness NewsHUNTINGTON, L.I. (WABC) -- The manager of a youth baseball team on Long Island has been arrested on charges of harassing a rival coach and his family.

Robert Sanfilippo manages a youth baseball team, named the Long Island Vengeance, consisting of 10-11-year-old boys.

Police say he got into an altercation with another coach at a tournament in May.

He later bought an untraceable phone.

Starting in August, Sanfilippo sent several text messages with pictures, threatening to do harm to the victim, his son, and his wife.

After an investigation, officers found the phone belonged to Sanfilippo.

He was arrested Friday during a game at Baseball Heaven in Yaphank.

Sanfilippo is charged with 20 counts of Aggravated Harassment and one count of stalking.
