Amanda Bynes pulled over for driving on suspended license; Lindsay Lohan speaks out on Twitter

Amanda Bynes was pulled over Sunday morning near Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, California, for driving with a suspended license. Her car was impounded, but she was not arrested or detained.

Bynes, a former child star who has appeared in the movies "Hairspray" and "Easy A," lost her driving privileges following a DUI arrest in West Hollywood and charges in two separate hit-and-run accidents. Bynes, 26, is due in court for a pretrial hearing on Friday.

Following Sunday's incident, fellow actress Lindsay Lohan, who has had few of her own run-ins with the law over the past few years, offered little sympathy over Twitter.

"Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?" Lohan tweeted.

Bynes also was recently photographed by TMZ, in her car, smoking out of a pipe, which appeared to contain marijuana.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles has confirmed that Bynes' driver's license was suspended, but it did not indicate the specific reason for the suspension or when it took effect.

The actress was recently charged with two counts of hit-and-run and could be sent to jail for up to a year. No one was injured in the actress' reported crashes. A Los Angeles City Attorney's office spokesperson said in a statement obtained by OTRC.com that the two hit-and-run charges, which are misdemeanors, were filed on September 4 and that Bynes is scheduled to be arraigned on September 27. She was sent a voluntary appearance letter on Wednesday, September 5. She has not commented about the charges.

Authorities say the first suspected hit-and-run took place in April. A person told police that Bynes rear-ended their car on a Los Angeles highway and fled the scene. She was not arrested.

The incident occurred days after she was booked for allegedly driving drunk and crashing into a cop car. She pleaded not guilty to DUI in June.

Prosecutors had reopened the first suspected hit-and-run case after a second one surfaced in early August. A Los Angeles woman filed a police report in which she claimed that Bynes rear-ended her on a busy street in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles and fled the scene. Bynes has not commented.

The actress faces a maximum punishment of six months in jail and a $1,000 fine for each hit-and-run count. If convicted of both, she could serve her jail time consecutively. Also, her DUI case carries a maximum sentence of six months behind bars. In Los Angeles, most non-violent offenders are released from custody early due to overcrowding.

The actress rose to fame as a child star with the Nickelodeon series "All That," which aired between 1996 and 2002. She also portrayed Taffy on the animated series "Rugrats" and starred opposite Colin First and Kelly Preston in the teen romantic comedy "What a Girl Wants." Between 2002 and 2006, she appeared on the sitcom "What I Like About You" with Jennie Garth.

She then starred in the movie "She's The Man," playing a college girl who disguises herself as her twin brother so she can play on a men's soccer team. Channing Tatum portrayed her love interest. Bynes also played pig-tailed Penny Pingleton in the musical film "Hairspray."

In June 2010, she announced on Twitter she had quit acting. A month later, she said she had "unretired," just ahead of the release of her latest film, the comedy "Easy A." She played a conservative student named Marianne opposite main star Emma Stone.

Lindsay Lohan's Playboy issue gets early release following leak

Lindsay Lohan's January/February Playboy issue will be released early after her nude spread surfaced online, Hugh Hefner announced on Twitter.

"Because of the interest & the Internet leak, we're releasing the Lindsay Lohan issue early," Hefner wrote on Friday.

The cover, which features the actress straddling a red Playboy bunny logo chair wearing nothing but black heels, was posted on several websites on Thursday. On Friday, eleven photos from Lohan's nude cover shoot were leaked and posted on sites like HolyMoly.com (NSFW).

"Lindsay Lohan was the top search name on the Internet yesterday," Hefner continued. "Her issue goes on sale late next week. Hot. Hot. Hot."

The issue was previously set to hit newsstands later in the month and the magazine had thousands of extra copies printed in anticipation of the high demand. Lohan was set to debut the cover and a photo from the nude shoot during an episode of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" which was set to air on December 15th.

Several quotes from the accompanying interview were also leaked, according to Just Jared, Lohan told the magazine, "Sex and sexuality are a part of nature and I go along with nature. I think Marilyn Monroe said that, and I agree with her."

"Knowing your body and being in touch with your body is important because it gives you confidence, and in life, women need confidence," the 25-year-old actress continued. "It's a very male-dominated world, so knowing yourself and being comfortable with your body is an important thing for me as a woman. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but that's mine."

Lohan has not addressed the leaked photos herself and will not do any interviews to promote her Playboy appearance, aside from her scheduled appearance on "Ellen."

"Lindsay has agreed to do one media interview during the on-sale period of her issue, and has chosen 'Ellen,'" a Playboy spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com on December 7. "The interview will air on Thursday, December 15. Lindsay will not be doing any additional interviews to promote her pictorial."

It was announced in October that Lohan would pose for the magazine, which TMZ reported would earn the troubled star almost $1 million.

"Lindsay has completed a successful photo shoot for Playboy magazine and will be on the cover of the January/February issue, which hits newsstands in late December," the actress' spokesperson told OnTheRedCarpet.com in November. "The pictorial is absolutely fantastic and very tasteful, and will be accompanied by an interview that will let readers see another side of Lindsay."

Playboy founder Hugh Hefner confirmed that the shoot was nude, but insisted that the pictorial was "very classy."

"It's a classic tribute inspired by the original Tom Kelley nude pictorial of Marilyn Monroe, a portion of which was the original playmate in the very first issue of Playboy," Hefner told The Insider in November.

Earlier this year, Lohan was ordered to complete 480 hours of community service ata woman's shelter and morgue after a judge ruled the actress violated her 2007 probation with a misdemeanor theft charge.

According to TMZ, Lohan is well ahead of schedule with her morgue obligation and has already completed 10 of her 12 court-ordered shifts. She also has a good reputation at the morgue, a source told the website she is, "polite, hard-working and never complains about the work."

The actress, a former child star known for films such as "The Parent Trap," "Freaky Friday" and "Mean Girls," is next scheduled to appear in court on December 14.

Lindsay Lohan begins reduced jail sentence - under house arrest

Lindsay Lohan turned herself in early on Thursday, May 26, to begin a jail sentence for violating her probation and due to overcrowding, had her sentence reduced from 120 to 35 days, which she will serve under house arrest.

The 24-year-old actress surrendered to authorities at a Los Angeles jail around 5 a.m. local time and was soon sent back to her home in Venice, California, OnTheRedCarpet.com has learned. Her release date is set for June 29. No booking photo was taken.

"Ms. Lohan has chosen to serve her time in home detention with an electronic monitoring program offered through the Department's Community Based Alternatives to Custody program," Steve Whitmore, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Spokesperson, said in a statement to OnTheRedCarpet.co,.

Lohan's sentence was handed down weeks ago after a judge ruled that she had violated her probation stemming from a 2007 drunk driving and cocaine possession case by being charged with theft. It was speculated that she would be allowed to serve her time at home. The actress was ordered to report to a Los Angeles jail by June 17.

Lohan had pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft in a missing $2,500 necklace case. She was given three more years of probation for the case with no additional jail time. The actress, who has served time behind bars before, has said she supports the judge's decision.

Lohan was also ordered to complete 480 community service hours at a women's shelter and in a morgue, undergo psychological counseling, attend a Shoplifters Alternative class and pay several fines.

She has already begun her community service duties but cannot continue her work or her classes while under house arrest. The actress was ordered to resume her duties after she is released.

Lohan had been pre-approved for house arrest after her theft charge was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor. She is set to return to court for a progress report on July 21.

Lohan has been to jail several times for stints that have lasted between 84 minutes and 14 days, a sentence reduced from 90 days mostly due to overcrowding. Last month, after her sentencing for her probation violation, Lohan spent several hours inside a Los Angeles jail before she was bailed out.
